Damn the torpedos!
Onto some star trek attack wing.
With Resistance op1 coming up, I've come up with a few ships to use. We can either build 120 points out of our own stuff, or do the 90/30 depending on the blinds that we receive. Out of all the configurations and keeping it outside the realm of the bullshit weyoun borg cubes, this one seems to be the funniest, and it has some shenanigans of its own.
I bring you.. DAMN THE TORPEDOS!
Resource: Flagship Independent (Klingon) (10)
2nd Division Cruiser (34)
Toth Gor (4)
Flagship (0)
Fire At Will (6)
Counter Attack (4)
Adm. James T. Kirk (8)
Mr. Spock (6)
Sakonna (2)
Tactical Station (2)
Volley of Torpedoes (3)
Volley of Torpedoes (3)
Photon Torpedoes (3)
Transwarp Drive (4)
Ship SP: 79
Total Build SP: 89
The concept is simple, Scan/Target lock, then unload with Fire at will+volley of torpedos, with a tactical station so that the entire shots against two ships are as follows, 6/6/7/9 with the primary and second volley going on their weakest ship and the first volley and the subsequent photon torpedo going on their main ship. Spock will turn all the battle stations into hits for all this massive firepower for dice fixing, and after you've basically unloaded your payload, you have your 6 dice primary attack with counter attack to finish off any ship that's left.
I also have a species aux madness list.
Resource: Flagship Independent (Klingon) (10)

Biological Attack (5)
Positron Beam (3)
Quantum Singularity (6)

Ship SP: 80
Total Build SP: 90
in this one it plays towards the aux madness. Scan activates spock, counter attack, and since i have a history of bumping into my opponent, they get a warp core breach for their troubles.
I'm not sure which one of the two shenanigans I'll be running sunday, or if I'm going with another 120 point secret build that I'm working on.. but they both seem like winners in my book.
My vision of Purity.
What? A blog post two days in a row??? WHAT IS THIS MADNESS!!!!!!!
Well, I figured since I have dark eldar on the brain right now, and after reading through a ton of reviews about the new book, that I would make a pure list. What better way to talk about this pure list and my vision for it than a blog post.. with a fantastic little dark elf picture. I also figured out how to get the realspace raiders detachment to work in battlescribe so that made things easier in figuring out what was wrong and what was right.

Ravager (125pts)
Deep Strike, Night VisionDark Lance (5pts), Dark Lance (5pts), Dark Lance (5pts)That's right, Realspace raiders giving me 6 fast attack slots.. and I'm using them to the letter. Two fliers Two bikes and scourges. The fliers are the troop killing machines. with 2 Disentigrators, a splinter cannon, and 4 large blast str 6 ap 6? missiles, even terminators will fear them. For anti tank, I have the scourges with haywire blasters, and the token 3 Ravagers. Sure they got a little nerfed this edition only able to move 6 and fire all 3 lances, but that's still 3 lances per vehicle, and I can choose to deep strike them if neededFor melee, I have my archon, decked to challenge with a power sword(to strike at initiative of elf) the 2++ and if a titan or something gets froggy a haywire grenade and a soul trap(gaining strength for each unsaved wound done in challenges) he is a murder machine. Plus with two chances on the table of gaining hatred, he would be a monster. With him is of course his token 9 incubi bodyguards. Ap 2 murder machines can just packman through anything, and there's enough bodies to survive charging through cover, although with the archon having an assault grenade it's rather stupid that the squad he's with doesn't get the benefits of it as well...Each of the bikes are also close combat specialists, as well as the scourges. Agonizers are ap3 that are poisoned 4+ with str as user, so str 3 so at least the unit champions will be able to dish out attacks with well timed strikes. with hit and run they can always do damage in combat, then jump out away from the combat and use their incredible jink save to survive.. Speaking of that, I'm not sure if I can use the jink save on the overwatch.. but, with FMCs being able to jink even when they aren't flying I don't see why I couldn't.The list is also very thematic. Everything is mobile or with wings, have the ability to deep strike, or move very very fast. It does give you that feel of a raiding party. One of these days, I do expect to actually be able to test out some of these lists so I can be sure that I would actually want to start building it up for casual tournament play.List two. +++ Pure de (1847pts) ++++++ 1850pt Dark Eldar: Codex (2014) Roster (Realspace Raiders Detachment)) +++Dark Eldar: Codex (2014) (Realspace Raiders Detachment) Selections:+ HQ + (130pts)* Archon (130pts)(Fleet, Independent Character, Night Vision, Power from Pain)Haywire Grenades (5pts) (Haywire), Kabalite Armour, Plasma Grenades, Power Sword (15pts), Shadow field (40pts), Soul-trap (10pts), Splinter Pistol+ Elites + (311pts)* Incubi (215pts)(Fleet, Night Vision, Power from Pain)Incubus Warsuit* 8x Incubi (160pts)8x Klaive* Raider (55pts)(Deep Strike, Night Vision)Disintegrator* Mandrakes (96pts)(Fear, Fleet, Infiltrate, Move Through Cover, Night Vision, Power from Pain, Shrouded, Stealth)* 8x Mandrake (96pts)8x Baleblast, 8x Close Combat Weapon+ Troops + (330pts)* Kabalite Warriors (165pts)(Fleet, Night Vision, Power from Pain)Kabalite Armour* 9x Kabalite Warrior (72pts)9x Close Combat Weapon, 9x Splinter Rifle* Kabalite Warrior with special weapon (23pts)Blaster (15pts), Close Combat Weapon* Raider (70pts)(Deep Strike, Night Vision)Disintegrator, Splinter Racks (15pts)* Kabalite Warriors (165pts)(Fleet, Night Vision, Power from Pain)Kabalite Armour* 9x Kabalite Warrior (72pts)9x Close Combat Weapon, 9x Splinter Rifle* Kabalite Warrior with special weapon (23pts)Blaster (15pts), Close Combat Weapon* Raider (70pts)(Deep Strike, Night Vision)Disintegrator, Splinter Racks (15pts)+ Fast Attack + (566pts)* Razorwing Jetfighter (140pts)(Night Vision, Supersonic)2 Disintergrator Cannons, 4x Monoscythe Missile, Splinter Cannon (10pts)* Reavers (141pts)(Combat Drugs, Hit & Run, Night Vision, Power from Pain, Skilled Rider)Wychsuit* Arena Champion (51pts)Agoniser (25pts), Bladevanes, Splinter pistol* Reaver jetbikeSplinter Rifle* 4x Reaver (64pts)4x Bladevanes, 4x Close combat weapon, 4x Splinter pistol* 4x Reaver jetbike4x Splinter Rifle* Reaver with special weapon (26pts)Bladevanes, Close combat weapon* Reaver jetbike (10pts)Blaster (10pts)* Scourges (155pts)(Fleet, Night Vision, Power from Pain)Ghostplate armour, Plasma Grenades* Scourge with Special / Heavy weapon (26pts)Close combat weapon, Haywire blaster (10pts)* Scourge with Special / Heavy weapon (26pts)Close combat weapon, Haywire blaster (10pts)* Scourge with Special / Heavy weapon (31pts)Blaster (15pts), Close combat weapon* Scourge with Special / Heavy weapon (31pts)Blaster (15pts), Close combat weapon* Solarite (41pts)Agoniser (15pts), Close Combat Weapon, Splinter pistol* Venom (65pts)(Night Vision)Flickerfield, Splinter Cannon, Splinter Cannon (10pts)* Venom (65pts)(Night Vision)Flickerfield, Splinter Cannon, Splinter Cannon (10pts)+ Heavy Support + (510pts)* Ravager (125pts)(Deep Strike, Night Vision)Dark Lance (5pts), Dark Lance (5pts), Dark Lance (5pts)* Ravager (125pts)(Deep Strike, Night Vision)Dark Lance (5pts), Dark Lance (5pts), Dark Lance (5pts)* Talos (260pts)* Talos (130pts)(Fearless, Feel No Pain, Night Vision)Armoured Carapace, Chain-Flails (5pts), Close Combat Weapon, Stinger Pod (5pts)* Talos (130pts)(Fearless, Feel No Pain, Night Vision)Armoured Carapace, Chain-Flails (5pts), Close Combat Weapon, Stinger pod (5pts)List two includes mandrake and empty venom as well as two talos which have become amazing.

Dark eldar?? What is this blasphemy
Well, after getting my hands on the new dark eldar book, and battlescribe having updated itself, (although there are still some issues) I've decided to sit down and flesh out what I would like my dark eldar list to be. This also uses a loophole in the rules involving skimmers and deep striking IE rules state that if a skimmer can't be placed due to friendly or enemy models, move it back along the line until it can.
I've always liked a more hands-on approach to my lists and I always loved combat. I always enjoyed the mandrakes in terms of their looks and wanted to incorporate them into a list.

The archon and Autarch each go with a bodyguard of incubi.*figured splitting them up would not only add an extra venom, but also make it so that my massive murder unit couldn't be locked down by zombies*The eldar detachment has the fire dragons for anti tank, and the nightspinner as well. the troops are just 5 dire avengers in a serpent because well, one wave serpent is not cheesy.Hopefully I can get a few opinions and tests out with this list before I start trying to buy up all the models.

Redstone rumble Aftermath, Attack wing lists
So, The 2014 Redstone rumble is now complete and I've had a day to recover. I did not officially play in the rumble due to life events popping up months in advance, but I did help out and was the ringer, which I was only needed for one game over the course of two days.
The overall tournament was great as usual. Everyone I talked to while walking around, handing out score sheets, etc had nothing but good things, and I know they are looking forward to next years rumble.. which, I hope that, barring some drastic life things, I will actually once again be an active player than just a helper, although, I did like not having to deal with any pressure, and all the rules questions I was asked were minor and easily settled. I also learned I can actually run on 2 hours of sleep and not rip anyone's head off :)
The borg collective op is done, with myself placing 3rd overall, (all because during month two I couldn't roll dice), and it will be onto Resistance is Futile in a couple of weeks. We'll be changing things up by having two options to run this block of tournaments. We can either do our 90/30 blind build, or build 120 points straight from our collection. I've been working on a few 120 point builds to playtest in the meantime.
The first month of RIF is basically arena minus the running into the web you die. that in mind, I've come up with a Federation/Dominion list, because borg are dumb and I want to play a REAL faction first, with that in mind.
Resource: Flagship Independent (Romulan) (10)
USS Enterprise-E (32)
Jean-Luc Picard - Crew (5)
Attack Pattern Omega (3)
Adm. James T. Kirk (5)
Boheeka (3)
Tom Paris (4)
Dorsal Phaser Array (6)
Tactical Station (4)
Ship SP: 62
Jem'Hadar Battle Cruiser (32)
Gul Damar (4)
Flagship (0)
Omet'Iklan (5)
Amat'Igan (3)
Antiproton Scan (4)
Ship SP: 48
Total Build SP: 120
The idea is simple. I take the two biggest, baddest ships in each respected fleets, and tear them a new one! With the E I am firing at 10, I will always be firing 5 dice from the 360, Ahab picard picking the faction that my opponent has more points into, hoping to get that Attack pattern omega off, or weakening the shields. It will roll 1 dice for the ship normally, 1 dice for Ahab(vs the chosen foe), 1 dice for Paris, and 1 dice for the Rom flagship that will be near by. 4 dice is nothing to scoff at these days. The Tactical stations will get discarded when I feel the need to push the dice through with Battlestations and boheeka to get a ship down.
The Cruiser is piloted by Damar for two reasons. ONE this is going to be a close quarters fight, I expect mines and secondary weapons out the ying yang, and two, I wanted to use him in an actual fleet as I do not need Dukat in this list with the set up. The Cruiser will be doing a Battle stations, and scan every turn, or using kirk's action to disable my opponents bullshit. and firing 6 dice vs a ship with shields and 7 dice vs a ship without it. Omet converts one blank to a hit from the primary, and the ship itself is rolling 3 defense dice, oh and omet can not be assimilated thanks to amat.
Overall, I am really liking this two ship list. I hope to test it out here in the near future but it's looking good in theory.
Until next time I decide to blog :D

What an update??
So, I figure I'd do an update post. First off, I haven't really had time to actually get a lot of games in for warhammer fantasy, so I had to drop out of the campaign I was in. To be honest, trying to schedule games in was starting to become a hassle as if I was free my opponent wasn't and then the pressure of having games that were no longer really fun also were factors.
I still play fantasy tho and when things settle down and I get back the urge to actually be somewhat competitive with my army lists I'll go around and actually finish up my dark elves.
That being said, what could I be so busy with?
Medical issues and getting back into the flow of finishing up my psychology degree. Yes, I'm finally able to get a few bills worked out so I can at least finish up in 2-3 years. I'm going to be signing up for the spring as soon as I am able to for at least one class to start getting my mind back to working without deciding to blow up in seizurific fashion!
Now, what does this mean.
Well, the fantasy content on my blog is going to be kept to musings about things every now and then, reports from some of the major tournaments like the upcoming Redstone rumble, Meta shifts, 9th edition rumors, Why I think cheaters shouldn't show up in tournaments etc.
I am also going to try and expand my Attack Wing content a little bit. With the hissy fits of the borg starting to die down and the upcoming new year of all the ships, the game is a lot better than it has been. So, stay tuned for builds, tactics, strategies and musings on that.
The 40k content will also slightly increase as I muse over MY army, aka Dark Eldar. A new codex will be coming out in the next few months and I plan on giving my full opinion/ranting/cursing/etc on it as well as coming up with lists that even tho wont see the table top for a while because medical expenses have drained me, will possibly see the table in the future.
I will also try and do some MMO content. Archage is releasing tuesday and I have been playing Neverwinter a lot so expect some musings about those games in between.
Lastly, I will try and put up some musings about some of the board games and card games that I plan on at least dipping my toe into, Especially the new Conquest LCG (whenever FFG gets their shit together and actually releases the damn thing!)
So, Content is coming. It will be sporatic, but I will try not to go months between content.

Warhammer Conquest: LCG Mini Review + deck list
What a surprise for me today. Got to play a one starter version of the new LCG from Fantasy Flight called Warhammer conquest, and I'm hooked. The game plays very fluid and each faction has it's own flavor to it.
The factions that are available from the starter box: IG, Marines, Tau, Eldar, Dark Eldar, Chaos,Orks. with Necrons and Tyranids down the pipeline. Each of those factions can ally with one of their two chosen factions. IG can either do Marines or Orks, Eldar can do Dark Eldar or tau, etc.
With only one starter set my experience in the demoing was limited, but I can already see potential. I would highly suggest checking it out and reading all the rules as I'm not even going to bother to try and do it all in this blog post.
The deck that I ended up constructing, well by constructing I mean throwing all the cards of the two factions that I could into a deck, was of course Dark Eldar/Eldar. they are the control freaks with Dark Eldar being the more agressive of the control decks, aka, my type of playstyle.
So, with a minimal of 50 card decks and two starters I've decided to construct what I would run as a Dark eldar/eldar control deck. Note: the first 8 cards are assigned because of my warlord.

The premise behind this deck is Control, route and Exhaust. For a more detailed view on what each of the card does go Here.
I really can not wait to play some more of the game and I hope to have even more detailed stuff in the near future.. I swear I haven't forgotten about my blog, I'm just a lazy git :)

To boldy Cheat.. Aka I don't like to lose!
So, After some time I decided to do some more blogging. sorry for the delay but life has been a little hectic.
Borg OP1, the first of two that I will be attending, was this past sunday. I managed to pull out the tie for second place, and being the top non borg player in the event where 3 out of the 8 people playing were running borg. It was using the blind buy and I managed to pull ship 1 of 3 that I wanted, the Maquis raider. I plan on going into more details on how awesome I think the blind ships are after playing them soon, but for now, Michael eddington is amazing.
So, with the second Borg OP1 coming up in a week, I've decided to try my hands at .... FEDERATION! *waits for my readers to wake up after passing out*
I've been wanting to run feds for a while, but dominion has always been my first love and will always be my go to fleet because I know every trick they can pull and some evil combos that can be triggered. I was also fed up with the fact that Borg are everywhere..
So, I got to thinking, how do you deal with a souped up tactical cube in op1 that can avoid it's borg buddies and assimilate you.. With federation, I came up with a brilliant idea.. CHEAT!
Not cheating per say, but basically taking a 100 point fleet with great synergy to a 90/30 tournament thanks to non other than the Reinforcement sideboard.
First, the list.
Resource: Reinforcement Sideboard (10)
Jean Luc Picard -Captain
Faked Messages -Talent
Quantum Torpedoes -Weapon
The Doctor -Tech
USS Voyager (30)
Khan Singh (6)
Attack Pattern Omega (3)
Boheeka (2)
Shroud (1)
Ship SP: 42
U.S.S. Defiant (24)
Christopher Pike (4)
Adm. James T. Kirk (5)
Tuvok (4)
Lojour (1)
Ship SP: 38
Total Build SP: 90
First off, This is Khan... With KIRK.. FROM THE SAME MOVIE! A million nerds head just exploded from seeing that. But, there's a reason for this.
The list is simple. Khan uses voyagers ability to shoot everywhere with a battlestations to pump out the crits, and the moment a cube takes one to the hull, which bypasses their ablative armor by the way thanks to khan's turning battle stations into crits after the defender modifies, it's getting a warp core breach. Pike is the starting captain for the defiant. He makes Tuvok and lojour cheaper. Three out of the 4 cards on the sideboard go on the defiant. Picard goes first, then the doctor, followed by the quantums when I get within range. If my opponent comes at me faster than anticipated, it'll be picard then quantums and save the doctor for when I need to restart the combo again.Defiant is there because it has excellent maneuverability. 2-3 white turns with a 90 degree front and rear can insure the quantum's get to their target.
Picard will be an 11 to ensure his quantums fire first, stripping 7 damage, assuming all hits and battlestations, off say the cube leaving it without hull. Khan will then take some pot shots and either their armor will be eaten up, or they will take a warp core breach to the face, and thanks to boheeka it will almost always do some damage unless the dice gods decide to make me cry. Shroud is there to protect boheeka from being assimilated for a turn if the cube decides to play nasty.
Now, the two tech cards in the list, and the reason why I have Admiral kirk in the list. His fleet action to disable any upgrade of my choosing at range 1 is amazing.. Disabling Ass tubes, Disabling their ablative armor, disabling spock or anything else I don't like will be great, AND the blind ship that I draw can use the action, so if it's on its last legs I can run it into the opponent and disable something with it freeing up the beefier ships to do their normal complement of actions, or just do that even if it isn't on its last leg. Kirk Also CAN NOT be assimilated by ass tubes as he is not a crew, weapon, or tech upgrade. He also can not be stolen by any means as he is a captain, and is another buffer to save my captain if the BTC decides to go assimilation happy thanks to poor positioning on my part.
Speaking of borg and assimilating, here comes my ace in the hole.. Faked messages. It's from the gorn ship, and it is more of a threat than anything. What it does is at the end of the planning phase after all dials are set, I discard it to target a ship outside of 1-3 of the ship using the talent, that ship then ignores its dials and moves a 1 white forward. Meaning, if I'm going against borg and their ship is facing towards the edge or back of the board to do some sliding shenanigains, I can throw them off the board. I can also make sure that if they did a big maneuver to slide in to ass tube me before I have a chance to disable it with Kirk, I can just force them to move a one forward, screwing up their plans. It can go on any of the 3 ships in my fleet too. I can always throw it on the blind ship if it's going to be further back or out of range to do anything. Also, if they are playing with the Transwarp conduit, which guarentees that they will be outside of range 1-3 if you have it on your ship you can almost force them into a spot where they didn't want to be for fear of it.
I'm hoping that this build will be effective as it's a lot more tricks than what I'm used to, but being able to basically Cheat and run 10 more points than my opponent... Great! I mean, I'd feel bad against my non borg opponents, but Fuck the borg. They cheat already with their movement so time to return the favor.
