Holy Cardassians!

So, It's happened....

I'm now playing Star Trek Attack wing... and I'm not ashamed of it.

As most people know, I am a huge star trek fan with my favorite series being DS9. When I first heard of Attack wing I was curious but only a little bit. It had the feds, romulans, and klingons only at that time with a few independent ships being released in tournament play. I watched a few games but it was more casual observation of my friends playing, Me being curious but only in the casual setting.

Then, It came out.. Gul Dukat and Cardassians.. Sure they were under the faction the Dominion..(meaning they are taking them from the latter half of the DS9 era) but... CARDASSIANS!!! By far my favorite race in the entire Trek Universe.. hell, I play SWTOR with my main character being named Garak for cardi's sakes! *yes, I brought trek into wars!* So, I got more into the game being even more curious as to the rules and nuances of it. One of my friends built me a pure dominion(cardassian focus) for my first game, and I barley won. The win didn't suck me in, but the ease of the game, the rules, and the fact that even tho cardassian ships turn like school bus's they just seemed to "fit me". This was later confirmed in the next couple of learning games I played using Klingon and Romulan forces. Sure, they turn fast, but they just didn't ... Fit the way I play. I wasn't as precise, stealthy, one step ahead as I needed to be and the actions just got confusing! even with a klingon 3 ship build that was just designed to push ships forward, I didn't know when I needed to cloak or when I needed to scan, sensor echo, etc.

So, I started looking at what's out there and the more and more I looked at it, the more and more I wanted to do dominion...with a focus on the cardassians (and not the jem hadar/vorta/ breen part). I mean, With Dukat leading the way and helping out with a free action, and the best crewman in the game Boheeka (who my friend was using in most all of his federation builds) it just seemed right, that and with me being new I wanted a fleet that it could be fun, cheap, and theme-y.

Then, I took the plunge. I bought the Kornak who had dukat and boheekan in it and I built a fleet.
I'll be participating in my first tournament here in a few weeks (borrowing the rest of the cardassians I need for the list while I acquire the other cardassian ships and the base game (for the templates and dice...)). I'm shooting for at least one win, but more than that I'm wanting to have some fun with the cardassians!

Breen aid (the only non cardassian, but fits as not only does it work well, but gives the impression that the Dominion still have some control over their members)

I do realize that if you don't know what these cards do this list will be kinda like wtf are these, but I hope that the more experience I get in the game, I can give a more in depth explanation.


Also, Our Fantasy campaign will be starting up soon, so My dark elves should be getting more play time (and subsequently more blogging) so look for more of that as well :D
