The birth of a new alliance?

In a follow up to my blog from yesterday, I have come up with what I think will be the start of my salamander/GK alliance.

Thoughts and fears:

The idea is that vulkan, his body guards, and the GK libby rolling on santic or divination ride around in the GK crusader, The purifiers, which I want to get a big squad of 10 with 2 more incinerators, will steal the Drop pod from the Dreadnought, deep strike in turn 1, Purging flame in a nova, then incinerate what's left. Turn 2 the drop pod brings in the GK termies without scatter so they can start to go to town on whatevers left. This does leave one of my troops without a vehicle or a way to get around fast, and leaves the dreadnought vunerable before it can do its thing, but seeing as every time I deep struck in the dread it just died to melta bombs in assault, it might end up being more survivable and in a better position to protect the slower moving elements.

Against fliers i have nothing but snap shots, but fliers are starting to not see a lot of play thanks to everything being scoring and only a hovering flier can capture an objective. That and if I get lucky and one of the objectives is a skyfire nexus, I have melta and psycannons at str 8 to deal with em.

I don't know what I would drop to increase the purifiers to 10, or if I even need to as even at 120 points its a cheap throw away nova unit that can do some damage. I have 5 warp charges before dice, and that's all I really need with the librarian using its psychic to protect vulkan and his possy and throwing the rest at cleansing flame when I need it.

Hopefully I'll get to try this out soon after running by a friend of mine to see what he thinks of it.
