Succomming to the light... or, why I hate myself..

And so, It's finally happened.. I'm hating myself for it, but I finally broke down and built a pure eldar list. I tried soo hard to not build a pure eldar list and always include my dark eldar as to make it seem rather... evil and piraty.. but the fact that it's firepower vastly succeeds my dark eldars along with it's durability and it's adversion to the "One list to win them all" that the dark eldar currently suffer in 6th edition gameplay I find myself yelling at the top of my lungs about the whole thing. I mean, it took them 12 years to get a new Dark Eldar book, then the sculpture of most of the models left GW and it just pisses me off that they don't care about most of their new armies.. I mean, shit, the next book after the dark eldar book introduced the necron flier spam that's popular now.

The things I like about an army, and the reason I love my dark elves in fantasy, is Flexability in list building.. there are some units that pop up in every army list, but overall you can have very different lists place very well in a tournament. That's the one thing that kept coming me back to the eldar book was this.. I've already seen several different list configurations with several different units and they all work.. There is no, Put 2 ravagers and a flier in your heavy support and call it a day.. there's no, Venom spam the hell out of things if you want to win.. It's hey, here's your heavy support choices, have fun!  same with troops and elites, yes people say that some units are over priced, mainly Dire Avengers, but even they have a place in the book.. and not just a cheap way to get a wave serpent.. who is the real MVP of the book rocking out a shit ton of high strength, ignore cover shots..

As I have not bought a single eldar model....at the time of this writing.. I don't feel totally bad for "succumbing to the light" but this list just seems rather.. amazing.

The whole list just screams flexibility/Take all comers.. The scorpions are there as a unit of "I'm going to keep you honest" with their infiltration and stealth capabilities as well as being able to pack a punch if charged or charging in at a depleted unit after it's been shot to hell and back and sitting on an objective. They have a ton of attacks at str 4 ap 6(which means that everyone gets their armor saves, but make em through enough dice they are bound to fail eventually) at very high initiative. their exarch has a str 6 power fist that strikes at high initiative and AP2 and the entire unit has a marine armor save..
The hawks are designed to be a complete annoyance, especially when combined with the Autarchs reserve manipulation. on turns 2, 4 and 6 they will be dropping in wherever I want them, dropping a LARGE str 4 template that ignores cover ontop of a unit in say, a defense line or in cover, and then shooting the hell out of them and then running out of charge distance/out of template bait and then skyleap away and repeat the process.. If they do get charged, they can just hit and run away and repeat the process.
The autarch will hang out with the Dire avengers, The exarch in the Dire avengers playing "save the autarch" with his 3+ invuln save in challenges. The banshee mask is in case I get the opportunity to charge with the Dire avengers to give them a boost.
Farseer rides with the guardians and "to my knowledge of how psykers and trasnsports work" cast his powers from the safety of the vehicle as you do not need line of sight for psychic powers.

So, this is first draft of this whole new army.. now to go wash myself off of this goody two shoes ...filth.
